Description
When a patient experiences suicidal thoughts or behaviors but does not require hospitalization, suicidal risk becomes the primary focus of outpatient psychotherapy.
This webinar introduces three evidence-based suicide-focused modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). Participants will learn the framework and core strategies of each and how they inform care for patients with chronic or episodic suicidality in outpatient settings.
Objectives
- Explain the clinical importance of treating suicidal thoughts and behaviors as the primary treatment target rather than a symptom of an underlying psychiatric diagnosis.
- Describe the framework of CBT-SP, DBT, and CAMS as outpatient treatments for suicidal risk.
Agenda
- 12:00pm–12:30pm Clinical Framework
- 12:30pm–1:00pm CBT-SP
- 1:00pm–1:30pm DBT
- 1:30pm–2:00pm CAMS
